How to get re-interested in your AG dolls

Some of us hit a low point with AG- whether it be a certain doll of ours we don't pay attention to as often, or if it's AG as a whole.

If you're losing interest in AG as a whole, try this:

-Reconnect with your dolls. Change them, change their hairstyle, do photoshoots, and watch 'all my dolls' video on YouTube. I personally enjoy seeing several dolls grouped together, and it makes me want more. You can also try searching the AG site and see what doll you may want next. You can also get ideas from 'all my dolls' videos or just regular AG doll videos.

You may start wanting a doll you never paid attention to. I wanted Emily for Christmas for a while and even had two dreams about her, but I kept having my doubts. Then, I suddenly realized that #33 wasn't half bad, and started wanting her instead. I wanted her for a much shorter time, but she ended up being the right choice, because I absolutely LOVE her. I'm extremely glad I got her and not Emily. And to think I never even paid her much thought.

I never really paid much attention to Jesse, either. If you aren't sure about a doll because of her stock photo, I will give you some advice- AG's stock photos do not do the dolls justice. They all look way better in person, whereas they may look weird in the stock photos. So if you think that there aren't any good-looking dolls out there, look the dolls up on YouTube, and see what she really looks like. That's what I do when I want a doll.

Also try reading historical stories. I wanted my first dolls, Kit and Ruthie, because I had read the books. Try reading more historical character books and pick out your favorite historical. You may start wanting her doll.

If you're losing interest in a certain doll/dolls:

Maybe there's an older doll whose hair isn't near as fun to play with as your new #55's. Maybe her hair is frizzy and you always end up dressing her drably, because all the good clothes go to your newer dolls. I know I've been there. Well yesterday, I reconnected with Kit and Ruthie.

Dress them up in pretty outfits- don't save all the bright and colorful shirts for your other dolls if you only have that much to go around. Put them in outfits they've never worn or don't wear often (Kit hasn't worn her shoes in a while), or mix and match different outfits (Ruthie is wearing the skirt and boots from the new MAG outfit, the Campus Casual shirt, and the vest from the Weekend Fun Outfit.)

Once you've made them look fresher, style their hair as best you can. You may have left their hair alone because you thought it looked perfect. I did that with Ruthie's hair, but it started to get frizzy and messy. I didn't just re-curl the frizziest curls and spritz it- I started fresh, because this is all about fresh. [The key to get interested in a doll again is to make her look fresh and new, not 'I've looked the same for a month'.] So, I sprayed and brushed out all of her hair, took a couple minutes to re-curl it, and stuck a bobby pin on the side so that curl wouldn't get in the way. (Which it always does.) I brushed Kit's hair out to where I like it- not the bob hairstyle AG shows in the stock photos, which you can do but I personally think looks horrid, but just nice and straight with those little flips. They look great.

Also, hug them and hold them. XD It does help, because it reminds you that they are another blessing to your AG family, just as much as your newer, softer-haired, and longer-haired dolls. You can also try making photoshoots of them. It helps you see them as an even more beautiful doll.

While writing this, I got an idea. First, everyone ask me some questions so I can make an FAQ and feel awesome, XD and if you want me to make a review on a doll or two (like maybe Kit and Ruthie), then I could try my hand at that. Rule: Only dolls I have. XD Hope that was self-explanatory.

So, that's how I get re-interested in a doll or dolls. :D
